Lovi Did This from Liveurope Night: “5 Songs That Define My Artistic Life"

Publication date: 17 October 2025

Lovi Did This is an innovative artist mixing Tarantino guitars and distorted electronic sounds in strong pop songs. Her debut album "Monsters" 2022 got great critical acclaim and she was put forward as a new act to watch by the press. Following the debut she has played many shows, including the 20-future-artist festival at Debaser, the Future Echoes Showcase, Live at Heart Showcase, Fools Gold Festival and Die Neuen Schweden in Berlin.

Ahead of her upcoming performance at Liveurope Night, she’s curated a playlist of five songs that inspire her and reflect her artistic journey.

1. Weird Fishes – Radiohead

The beauty of this song... just puts me back on track every time i listen to it (or sing it). The monotony of the guitar and drums and those bittersweet harmonies. And the lyrics and vocal performance is great. I tear up every time. Also love the progressive last part and how the song flows like a river through a changing landscape. Makes me want to work more with repetition.

2. Tears in the Typing Pool – Broadcast

I am just crazy for this band and this song is so exqusite in the way they let the song be super simple with just (a Mellotron?) lifting the chorus.  Makes me want to always focus on vocals and not go overboard with add ons.

3. I Go to Sleep - Anika

This song/artist really inspired me to not be afraid to do things very simply and play with old school drum machines etc. Very dry/cold production but the vocal melody warms the song from the inside. I get a full movie in my head when I listen to this song!

4. I can't Escape Myself – The Sound

Great sound with minimalistic groove, dry, harsh guitars, happy darkness and split emotion. A sound that pulls me in and want to take away the "sugar" and focus more on the groove.

5. Clap Hands – Tom Waits

The organic groove and minimalistic warm raw intensity and captivating storytelling - Tom Waits is a true inspiration since I was very young. If I could choose I would want his voice! Butn also the way he play the guitar in this song - awesome!

Lovi Did This about her music:

Im inspired of everything from new instruments I can't play yet to strange noises from kitchen appliances. Making music is an incredible adventure and I would be lost without it. I have so much in my head I can't keep up recording it.

My music sounds a bit cinematic or dramatic Ive been told. Tarantino guitar and Lynch-vibes. To me music is as visual as it is audio, and everything tells a story. I can practically "hear" a photo and it's story. The things Im recording now are songs where the lyrics, melody and theme is quite central to the song. But I also do instrumental stuff. I like sounds that either seem to be alive or a part of the scene so to speak. Just like on a theater stage.

In my solo project Lovi Did This I work with people who play instruments with a lot of personality, the bass clarinet, the cello, strange percussion, old synthesizers. I have two Omnichords. They follow me everywhere and they are my favourite instruments. I can't even lend them to friends. They are attached to me.

I am not that good at browsing for new music, so I do a bit of work as a music journalist, which means I get to go and see many new bands and be confronted with new music. I take photographs for the articles and I also DJ a lot. I try to find the least played songs, the forgotten ones that are still awesome. Again, adventure everywhere. So much to be explored.

So I guess I am a serial creator, working with music, photography, dance and choreography and I also paint. It is all part of the same urge, to deal with the impossible task of life as a human.
