On November 24th Stodoła will turn dark, and the building will shake from the heavy metal tunes, when BEHEMOTH enters the stage!
The BEAST needs no introduction. For over 20 years, the band has been on top of the dark side of music in Poland, whilst also gaining popularity abroad. Adam ‚Nergal‘ is not only known as a musician, composer, music producer, multiinstrumentalist and singer but also as a journalist and tv character.
To begin with BEHEMOTH, played by them name of Baphomet, started up by their leader in Gdańsk in 1991. Form that time, the band have produced 9 studio albums, each one of them different in its own way. Sventevith (Storming Near The Baltic), was their debut and started of their contract with the german Solistitium Rec. for their following two albums. One of which was called Grom, the bands only album in which a female voice can be heard as well as an acoustic guitar and Pandemonic Incantatios, which also ended the bands paganmetal style. At this point Inferno the bands current percussionist joined the band. Their fourth album, Satanica (1999), turned out to be a spectacular success, with over ten thousand records sold, wich lead to signing a new contract with the italian Avantgarde Music as well as a lisence contract for the USA, and two long concert tours. From then on, the bands career grew dramatically and their album, Thelema.6, BEHEMOTH was popular in the worlds metal community.
The band has a number of awards and nominations, as well as shows at the worlds biggest festivals, like Impact Festival, Sonisphere or Brutal Assault. From 2012 the band has been on an international tour, covering the USA and Europe, and at the beginning of autumn they will start off with the other side of the globe, playing in Japan, Australia and New Zeland. The band is also working on their new album, The Satanist, which is due to in 2014.
The occasion to see this polish band live, which is seen as an international band, will come on November 24th, when BEHEMOTH takes over Stodoła
